The prevailing assumption today is that the key to parenting is in knowing what to do. Since children aren’t born with a manual, parents are becoming more dependent upon so-called experts for advice.

 

Contrary to other material, the Neufeld paradigm offers a complete approach to parenting, by truly informing and educating parents so that they can become the true experts in their children’s lives.

 

When relying on a “one-size-fits-all” approach, we wind up oversimplifying our lens to symptoms and behaviours, which prevents us from seeing the whole picture. By focusing instead on making sense of children from the inside-out, their basic attachment and developmental needs are uncovered so that parents can understand their child and become the answer to those needs.

 

The key to effective parenting lies not in what we do, but in who we are to our children. The secret lies in children being in right relationship to their parents. Therefore, it’s not about prescriptive solutions and superficial strategies. Through the Neufeld approach, challenging problems are explained is such a way that the root problems can be addressed.
